Common problems with the Book service and repair service

A number of error messages may be shown when using the "Book service and repair" service from the car. This article describes problems which may occur and what error messages may then be shown.

Error messages

Error messages may be shown when using the "Book service and repair"Applies to certain markets. service. These are described below with why they are shown.

Not all markets have access to My Volvo website and/or Volvo On Call. For further assistance, contact your local Volvo dealer or Customer Support.

An Internet connection is required to perform the request. Do you want to configure the Internet connection?

If this message is shown, you have no Internet connection. Make sure you have an Internet connection and a good signal strength. For information on how to set the Internet connection, see:

A Volvo ID and/or My Volvo account is required for requesting a booking. Do you want to start this process by registering an e-mail address?

The message is shown if there is no My Volvo account connected to the car. To link a My Volvo account, you need a Volvo ID. The following scenarios are possible:

  • You do not have a Volvo ID. You can create a Volvo ID by selecting OK in the message and filling in your e-mail address. You can also create a Volvo ID via the My Volvo website and Volvo On Call app. For more information, see Create and register a Volvo ID .
  • You do not have a My Volvo account. For more information about how you create a My Volvo account and connect it to the car, see About the Book service and repair service.
  • You have both a Volvo ID and a My Volvo account. Note that it can take up to 6 hours before your Volvo ID and your My Volvo account are connected to the car. Wait and try later.

No workshop linked to your car. Please select one online at your My Volvo website in order to receive a booking.

This message is shown if no workshop has been selected and linked to the car. It is not possible to send a booking request until you have registered a preferred workshop/dealer on your My Volvo website.

Note that it can take up to 6 hours before your choice of workshop/dealer in your My Volvo account is connected to the car. Wait and try later.

Unable to send previous response. Your car requires a maintenance service. Would you like a service workshop to contact you?

This message is shown if you made a booking request during a previous drive but the car was unable to send your request. If you still want to send a booking request, press YES. Make sure you have an Internet connection, that you have finished creating a Volvo ID and that you have selected the required workshop/dealer on the My Volvo website.

The car has not received a reply from the workshop. Check your Internet connection and your details on the My Volvo website.

This message is shown when you have sent a booking request but not received a response from the workshop. This may be because you do not have a functioning Internet connection or because the workshop has not sent a response yet. This message is shown 48 hours after you sent your request and will continue to be shown until a response is received. Note that it can sometimes take longer to get a reply, e.g. during weekends. Contact your service workshop if you are not sure.
