Create an Internet connection via Wi-Fi by sharing your mobile phone's Internet access and access several online services in your car.
To set up an Internet connection in your Volvo via Wi-Fi, see the instructions below.
Activate Internet sharing (portable/personal hotspot) on your mobile phone.
Press Settings in top view.
Press CommunicationWi-Fi.
Activate/deactivate by checking/unchecking the Wi-Fi box.
Press the SSID for the network to be connected.
Enter the network password.
If a different connection source was used previously, confirm your change of connection.
The car connects to the network.
When a phone is connected to the car it is saved for later use. When the maximum number of saved networks (50) has been reached, the first ones connected will be deleted. To display a list of saved networks or manually delete save networks, press SettingsWi-FiSaved networks.
Note that certain phones switch off tethering after the contact with the car has been disconnected, e.g. if the phone sharing out the Wi-Fi network is taken out of the car. To reconnect to the Internet, activate tethering (portable/personal hotspot) in the phone.
If your car is equipped with a car modem (P-SIM) then the car will automatically reconnect to the Internet if the connection is interrupted, e.g. if the SIM card is removed. For more information on the car modem (P-SIM), see Connect to the Internet via your car modem (P-SIM).
