In an online car it is possible to update several of the car's systems with remote updates directly from the centre display.

Frequently asked questions concerning the remote updates service are described below.
If the "No connection to service" message is displayed, this means that the connection to the service is not working. There may be several reasons as to why the connection is not working. A number of possible causes and solutions are listed below.

If the error message is displayed repeatedly for more than 12 hours, the service may be temporarily out of action or down for maintenance. If the fault persists for more than 48 hours, contact your Volvo dealer or Volvo Cars Customer Service for more assistance.
If the Download Centre service has not been used for 12 months, it will take longer to start the next time you use the service (approximately 60 seconds). The remote updates service will start more quickly the next time you start it, as long as the service has been used within 12 months.
If the car loses its Internet connection while an update is in progress, check the Internet connection and then restart the function.
Max 10 GB is available for apps. If the memory is full, the remote updates service will not work. The memory may be filled up if, for example, you store too much offline music. Increase the amount of memory available by deleting an app or stored offline music lists, for example.

An update can be interrupted when the ignition is switched off and the car is left. However, the update does not have to be completed before the car is left, this is because the update is resumed the next time the car is used.
Data download may affect other services that transmit data, e.g. Internet radio. If the effect on other services is experienced as disruptive then the download can be interrupted. Alternatively, it may be appropriate to switch off or interrupt other services.
