Getting started with Volvo On Call

Volvo On Call (VOC) is a built-in assistance system with a mobile appApplies to model year 2012 or later. which allows you to check your Volvo no matter where you are. This article describes how to get started with Volvo On Call and the Volvo On Call app.

To be able to use the VOC app, check the following:

  • Your Volvo is of model year 2012 or later and is fitted with VOC
  • You have a valid VOC subscription
  • VOC has been activated by the dealer when the car was delivered (i.e. you have a VOC PIN code).

If you purchase an extension after your subscription has expired, VOC must be activated by your dealer before you can continue using the services. This may cost extra. Therefore, it is a good idea to extend your subscription before it expires so that you can use the services without interruption. The subscription is extended from the date on which it should have expired.

Before you collect your Volvo On Call car

Volvo On Call is a factory option when you buy a new Volvo. Before you collect your new Volvo with Volvo On Call from your dealer, it is a good idea to have downloaded the Volvo On Call mobile app and tried it out in demo mode. The demo version allows you to try out most of the functions and gives you an idea of how the app is used. The app can be downloaded for free from the Apple AppStore, Google Play or Windows Phone Store.

Available app functions

The app functions available vary depending on which Volvo you have and which mobile phone you use. For more information, see Available Volvo On Call app functions for each Volvo model and Volvo On Call - Compatible devices and available app functions.

Volvo ID

Before you collect your car fitted with Volvo On Call, it is also a good idea to have created a Volvo ID (used when logging in to the Volvo On Call app). This can be done from the home page in the Volvo On Call app. For more information, see Create and register a Volvo ID .

Activate Volvo On Call

When you collect your car from the dealer, the dealer activates the Volvo On Call system together with you, and you will receive an automatically generated Volvo On Call PIN code. This PIN code is used for reasons of security to identify you as the owner of your Volvo (or another approved person such as a family member) and works as a car key. Create a Volvo ID and link the Volvo On Call app to your Volvo

You need a Volvo ID in order to use Volvo On Call. If you do not have one already, you will need to create one, see Create and register a Volvo ID . When you have created a Volvo ID, you need to connect the Volvo On Call app to your car, see Connect the Volvo On Call app to your Volvo.

When buying a used Volvo with Volvo On Call

If you have bought a used Volvo with Volvo On Call, it is important to delete data from the previous owner and add your own details to make the service work. For more information, see Volvo On Call Change of ownership.
