My car was booked in for loading the Apple Car Play and a software upgrade 9.30am 18/3/16. The dealer had to give me their demonstrator to get home as they didn't manage to load all of the new software ! They got it done in an hour Monday morning 21/3/16 and I got my car delivered back to me 3.30pm. The round trip to the dealer is 180 miles so good service from the dealer but bad service from Volvo. Software updates should not take a day.
After all this I couldn't see any differences in anything EXCEPT in two out of several issues that I had reported. I have always had the issue with the passenger seat heater but started to get an issue with the driver seat and wheel heater not coming on when set in automatic about 10% of the time. Now it doesn't come on in about 50% of the time yet it is set in automatic. The other issue is with the hand brake. I have it set in Auto but it now regularly forgets this and won't ley me move without switching off and reverting to manual. I have struggled to see if it is something that I am doing wrong or differently but I can't understand it. Maybe cause for another thread.
Great car but the issues are getting to me now because Volvo don't seem to be able to say when and how fixes will be delivered.

Not in mine, either. I guess we don't get that feature, either. I'll add it to the giant list of T8 features that don't come in US T8's. We have more like a "T7", but we still get to pay $82,000 for our "T7"'s. Fantastic.
Oh, and I'm just about to take my new owner's survey. I'll be sure and add this one, too.

Active Noise Reduction
I bought a new S60 2015.5 model in late Oct 2015, and have been noticing odd intermittent behaviour. Sometimes after I come to full stop at a stop sign or lights (or sometimes when I'm braking while parking in reverse/drive), I notice that when I take my foot off brake the car won't roll forward as it should normally. Rather the car hesitates for 3-4 seconds and then it jerks forward. Feels like the car is locked or stuck before it breaks free.
I also noticed that before the car breaks free, if I press the brake again it is very hard/stiff.
Days may go by without incident but it can also happen multiples times in a day.

This is not normal.

I took it to the dealer, and they test drove it but it did not happen while testing.. They also updated software, but this still is happening.
Any advise?

Topic: iPad / tablet holder
I have the iPad holders they work fine, some confusion from dealer as to what the difference is between the different iPad models, note the brackets are the same but fo4 the iPad Air your get a clip on plastic frame to make it the same aide as an iPad 2

I was worried that the base permanently on the back of the seats would look cumbersome but it does not.

I'm nay criticism is where to store the holders when not in use, in my T8 there is no where to store them.

Does anyone know if I can reset the position sensors on the convertible top with any professional scan tool, or do I have to have a Volvo specific scan tool?

C70 top issues
I have a 2010 plate C30 T5, and when driving the autolock kicks in when I go above a certain MPH. Today when I got home from work, my drivers side door would not unlock when I press the button however the passenger side was fine. Unlocking and locking with a key is fine no issues there at all.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Could it be applied also to D5 ? As a kind of add/on ? This would deserve it the most ... Volvo, please, let us know if this active noise cancellation is software based and even D5 has already the microphone suitable for it ?

Göran B wrote:

But there are currently no plans at Volvo Cars to have the Power Pulse retrofittable to MY2016 XC90 D5.

Sorry.

Do you think it would create some business?

Kind regards
Göran

For sure !!! I think al least half of present XC90 owners would certainly buy it ... I would be the first

Great! Then Volvo can make Power Pulse, Auto Pilot 2 and any other new features available as upgrades for MY16 XC90s. Yes, this would all definitely generate incremental business for Volvo. It might also lead to customers who are satisfied with Volvo's promise to keep updating this vehicle...

My XC60 2010 has had 3 instances where the car will not start due to a message saying steering lock on/ turn wheel
After turning the wheels this message wont go and the car wont start--twice the recovery team have hit the steering column and it has unstuck and started , last time this did not work and the car was recovered to a Volvo dealer. After 5 days and a flat battery (due to the easter break) the car then started and the Volvo dealer can find no fault on the car that is causing the steering lock to stick so have given the car back.
My confidence in the car is now minimal as I never know when this might happen again so dare not drive too far from home.
Any feedback would be appreciated surely this problem is fixable??

I have paired only one phone (iPhone 6plus) with the car from the very beginning. I created the list of favourite contacts in Sensus. After some time, there were suddenly "no favourite contacts". I did it second time. Today again - I wanted to quickly call someone and "no favourite contacts". A bit strange it seems and a kind of wasted effort. I wonder how it could simply disappear. A bit annoying

yes you can turn it off in the T8 via the Sensus...also it is probably in tne most quiet vehicle because the ePlatform creates some "interference" at some level

There is no AM radio in a T8 because of radio and ePlatform interference, as example

Is there a way to turn it on/off in the T8? I'd love to see the difference it either makes or doesn't make...

Mine is consistently 17 miles, best case, depending on how I drive. Hybrid mode drinks the battery MUCH faster at speeds above 45. I can get the most range out of the battery by using it only in places where I know I'll never go above 45. When I get to the faster places on my route above 45, I switch to "Save" mode.

Same here. I started to panic a bit when it was continually rebooting. Turned the car off, came back 10 minutes laters, and all good.
