You have to create a Volvo ID and then register it to your car to be able to access all connected services. This article describes how to create and register a Volvo ID to your car.
To create a Volvo ID, you must register an e-mail address and follow the instructions in the confirmation message sent to you.
The following methods are available to create a Volvo ID:
Only applies to VOC markets.
Applies to My Volvo markets only.
Follow the instructions below to create a Volvo ID. If a Volvo ID was already created, e.g. in another car, see "Register your Volvo ID to your car" a little later on.
To ensure the security of your Volvo ID, there are a number of requirements which need to be met when creating a Volvo ID, see the information below.
This instruction is only applicable for cars equipped with Volvo On Call.
Make sure that you have the latest version of the Volvo On Call mobile appThe latest version of the app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play and Windows Phone Store..
Select Create a Volvo ID from the homepage and follow the instructions.
When creating a Volvo ID via the Volvo On Call app you also need to register the e-mail address in the car to gain access to a range of Internet-connected functions, see the instructions below under "Register your Volvo ID to your car".
These instructions only apply to My Volvo markets.
Go to your market on volvocars.com or enter 'My Volvo' in any search engine.
Go to the start page for My Volvo.
Select Get Volvo ID.
Enter your e-mail address and follow the instructions.
When creating a Volvo ID via My Volvo, you also need to register the e-mail address in the car to gain access to a range of online functions, see the instructions below under "Register your Volvo ID to your car".
Download the Volvo ID app from Remote update service in the app view in the centre display if you have not already done so. For information on how to download apps, see Download, update and uninstall apps.
Start the app and register a personal e-mail address.
Follow the instructions sent automatically to the e-mail address you specified.
A Volvo ID has now been created and the ID is automatically registered to the car. Volvo ID services can now be used.
If your Volvo ID was created online or using the Volvo On Call app, register it to your car:
Download the Volvo ID app from Remote update service in the app view in the centre display. For information on how to download apps, see Download, update and uninstall apps.
To download apps, the car must be connected to the Internet. For information on how to connect your car to the Internet, see Connect to the Internet via your mobile phone (WiFi) or Connect to the Internet via mobile phone (USB).
Start the app and enter your Volvo ID/e-mail address.
Follow the instructions sent automatically to the e-mail address associated with your Volvo ID.
Your Volvo ID has now been registered to your car. You can now use Volvo ID services.
