We combine lightweight engines with supercharging, turbocharging and electrification for outstanding performance with less impact on the environment. It’s intelligent technology that gives you the best of all worlds. We call it Drive-E.
Responsive power
Our Drive-E range includes some of the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engines. This new family of powertrains uses supercharging and turbocharging, as well as advanced transmissions, to provide responsive power with far lower fuel consumption and emissions. Electrification allows us to achieve even more. In Power mode the XC90 T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid accelerates from 0-62mph in just 5.9 seconds, making it a true high-performance car.
